My role on a day to day basis as an apprentice is going to the training centre and undertaking new activities set by my trainer. I will arrive in the morning and go to the computer room to start on paper work and will then go down to the workshop
I have learnt both new skills and developed some skills as well. One of the skills that I have learnt since starting my apprenticeship is how to solder electronic components to PCB. One skill that I have developed since starting is the correct technique for filing metal plates and bars.
I enjoy the programme that I am on as it challenges me to learn new skills and concepts everyday that I arrive for work. Everyday presents a new challenge which I thourghly enjoy undertaking and figuring out new ways to tackle and overcome. I am always willing to undertake all challenges presented.
The programme that I am on is very well structured and organised. The section that I am currently completing has training tasks, work plans and assessment tasks which all have an order that need to be completed in to learn the neccasry skills. It also has research tasks to get additional information.
I receive lots of support from my employer throughout all my work that needs to be competed. The trainers always offer support when completing training tasks which allow me to ask any questions that I might have. As well as this they support me with all the paper work that I complete.
When working towards qualification my employer provides lots of support and guiademce. All criteria that I need to meet is carefully explained and layer out in an understandable way so that I can meet all assessment objectives. It is made easy to input all the evidence that is need of the qualification.
The qualification that I am working towards helps me to perform better in my role as it gives me a good basic understanding of the hand skills that I will apply when I am out on placement. It also helps me to understand how to fill out faulty reports and other documentation.
Through work there are extra curricular events that I can get involved to help my professional developement. Both professional networking events and careers events are available to volunteer at all times which allows me to get greatly involved with the company and help share my experience with others who might apply.
Yes
I would recommend this company as it provides lots of support to all workers in any areas that you might be struggling in. If it is practical that is a weak point then extra time can be allocated to imporove these skills and help develop the arears that you struggle with.
The advice that I would give to anyone applying to this company is to do lots of research into the values and aims of the company as this shows a real interest and passion. I would also advise that you practices as much as possible throughout the whole recruitment process.
