  • My role on a day to day basis is to complete tasks set by my instructor but also learn whilst I am doing these tasks. These tasks will give me skills that I need during my apprenticeship and can benefit me in my trade when doing certain jobs and using certain machines and tools.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship thoroughly and enjoy being able to learn new skills and learn a trade that many people don't get to experience. My work environment is also very enjoyable as it is full of people similar to you but also different as everyone has different skills that they are better at than others so everyone can help each other out with different tasks.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured well ,as the beginning of my apprenticeship is focused on developing basic skills that will set a foundation for the rest of my apprenticeship. The first year will follow along those lines but also start to focus more on my specific trade as at the moment all first year apprentices are working on their basic skills. Over the course of the apprenticeship the tasks I am set will become more complex.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • So far there aren't any extra-curricular activities ,such as sports teams, within my work but outside of work apprentices socialise and take part in activities together. However there are professional networking events that my work offers such as The Royal Navy Challenge that has apprentices across the country taking part and has every first year apprentice taking part.
