  • Assisting the Project Managers with their daily work and reporting. Taking on smaller projects to manage

  • Yes, the apprenticeship has greatly increase my confidence and adaptability

  • I have enjoyed many aspects of it, but I feel as though the scheme is still developing and there have also been a lot of areas for improvement

  • From personal experience, I think it could be a lot more organised. This is improving over time, but still requires improvement

  • There is general support available

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • This has varied throughout my time on the apprenticeship. This year we have distance learning via skype which has been difficult to get used to, but our lecturer is available

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that it works the other way, I feel as though my placement work informs my qualification to understand how things actually work in real PM environments

  • No, unless we organise them ourselves

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I feel as though it can be a good experience, even just for a few years. There are lots of areas to move around and it's a global company, so there are opportunities


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Make sure you make the most of your placements and ensure that there is definitely valuable work for you to do on them, otherwise you can end up wasting a year on placement
