  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working in an engineering role under the supervision of exsperienced engineers. Completing real activites whilst being given support form my direct mentor and from the Apprenticeship team. Along with completeing an HND at day relsease and NVQ Lvl 4 on the job.

  • Learnt new skills in data management whilst enhancing my skill in almost all areas related to my Engineering role weather being via qulaification (NVQ Lvl 4 or HND)

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program greatly, its exactly what i wanted to kickstart my career in engineering. providing the right level of qulifciation and a generous helping of real world learning and plenty of support.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Its well structured, i know exactly what the plan is and what where the boundires of what i can do are. Induction is an enjoyable and informative exsperience. Training in forums of NVQ is very organised, studdying is down to the individual. support is always offered from the company.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support recived on my day to day role within placment is very good. is also excelent with NVQ Lvl 4. the college could do better to provide more support to its students and the company is putting pressure on them to do that.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Whilst working towards my NVQ the training is 10/10. However the Support form the college is minimal due to the lack of staff, lack of motivation by staff and poor managment of the college.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training i recive from my qualification is of varing quality some tutors provide a high level of teaching whist at college while others dont provide the level of teaching I'd hope for. yes i have put theory into practice for some subjects.

  • yes there are social and STEM activites to tak part in and occasional networking events.

  • Yes

  • Good learning whilst on the job, a good level of qulification, good pay and location and good future prospects with the company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Reserch the company, be prepared for interviews, team building and be yourself
