As I have only been at the company for 5 months my role includes assessing subcontractor applications, going out on site to undertake measures and the upkeep and maintenance of the subcontractor folders to ensure all correspondence is kept up to date and in the correct place.
I have learnt how to do take-offs (both by hand and on the computer), I have improved massively on my excel skills and knowledge and I have also learnt a lot through the university course which will be helpful throughout my career.
I really enjoy the programme I am on! It's very interesting and the people that I work with are always there to lend a hand if you ever need it.
The programme is very well structured in my opinion as there is plenty of training to help you understand the different software used. It also helps having a study day once a week to catch up on university work.
If ever I need any support, whether that be personal or work based, there is always somebody to talk to.
The training provider is very helpful if you ever have any queries and are always there to support you. There are many ways to contact them and get the answer you may need, as well as them providing support for you if you need it.
As I am in my first year of the programme, the subjects I am doing will be beneficial in the future of my career, but at present they don't seem to apply too much.
The company hold an annual ball of which everyone gets invited to, so it is a great way of meeting new people within the business. They also hold numerous talks throughout the year to inform you how the business is doing.
