SERVING CUSTOMER TO RSOLVE QUERIES OR HELP CUSTOMER WITH THEIR DAY TO DAY BANKING SUCH AS DEPOSITING OR WITHDRAWING CASH AND PAYING BILLS ETC. FOLLOWING BANKING PROTOCOL TO MAINTAIN CONFEDENTIAL CUSTOMER DATA.
THIS APPRENTICESHIP HAS GIVEN ME EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH PEOPLE OF ALL BACKGROUND AND NEEDS. THIS ALSO INCREASED MY CONFIDENCE WHICH HAS GIVEN ME EXTRA MOTIVATION TO PROGRESS AND TO BE SUCCESSFULL. I HAVE BECOME A STRONGER PERSON DUE TO EXPERIENCING SETBACKS AS PROMISES WERE NOT KEPT FROM THE MANAGEMENT.
I ENJOYED THE BEGINING BUT BOT THE WAY IT TURNED OUT TO BE AFTER.
THE PROGRAMME ITSELF HAD A GOOD STRUCTURE AND A PLAN HOWEVER THE PLAN WAS NOT EXECUTED PROPERLY.
THE APPRENTICESHIP WAS NOT VERY ORGANISED. I DID NOT RECEIVE THE STUDY TIME WHICH MEANT I WAS WORKING ALL 5 DAYS WITHOUT GETTING THE 7 HOURS A WEEK. THIS CASUED A LOT OF STRESS IN COMPLETING AND MEETING THE DEADLINE OF COURSEWORK AND MODULES. VERY MINIMUM SUPPORT FROM THE MANAGERS AT BARCLAYS TO PROVIDE TIME FOR ME TO STUDY. THIS DELAYED IN THE COMPLETION OF MY APPRENTICESHIP WHICH AFFECTED MY PROGRESSION.
RECIEVED JUST ENOUGH AT THE END TO COMPLETE MY APPRENTICESHIP. SOMETIMES VERY DIFFICULT TO GET HOLD OF IF THERE WERE ANY QUERIES.
THE QULAIFICATION AND THE JOB ITSELF IS NOT VERY RELATABLE. IN SOME PARTS THERE WERE SOME KNOWLEDGE THAT I HAD LEARNT WHICH HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE PRODUCTS THAT THE BANK OFFERS. HOWEVER WORKING AS A ESSENTIAL BANKER EVERYDAY IT WAS NOT VERY RELATABLE TO THE COURSE I WAS COMPLETING.
THERE WASNT MUCH OF SOCIAL ACTIVITIES DURING MY TIME AT BARCLAYS. THERE WERE CHRISTMAS DINNER AND NIGHT OUT AND ALSO A DAY WAS ARRNGED FOR GO KARTING. HOWEVER APART FROM THOSE MEMORIES I DO NOT SEEM TO REMBER ANY OTHER SOCIAL EVENTS. IT WAS JUST A REGULAR PLACE OF WORK WHERE IF YOU HAD A NICE FRIENDSHIP WITH THE MANAGER YOU WOULD GET EVERYTHING (NOT RELEVANT TO EVERY BRANCH).
No
I WOULD RECOMMED ANYONE TO GO FOR THE APPRENTICESHIP WITH BARCLAYS DUE TO MY EXPERIENCE OF NOT GETTING THE ALLOCATED TIME TO REVISE OR PREPARE FOR THE EXAMS. YOU DO GET TREATED LIKE A FULL TIME EMPLOYEE WHICH IS EXCELLENT. HOWEVER THAT COMES WITH THE FACT OF NOT RECIEVING YOUR TIME WHICH CAUSES A LOT OF STRESS.
I WOULD ADVICE ANYONE WHO APPLIES TO BE AN APPRENTICE FOR BARCLAYS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY RECEIVE THEIR ALLOCATED TIME FOR STUDY AND ALL THE SUPPORT FROM MANAGERS AND THE TALENT COACH. TO FINISH THE APPRENTICESHIP AND PROGRESS. I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST THAT THEY LIKE MOVING BRANCES IN EVERY 3 MOTNHS WHICH WAS ONLY IN MY CASE. I WAS TRANSFERRED 6 TIMES IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. THIS DOES NOT GIVE YOU HOPE OF BARCLAYS HAVING THE BEST INTEREST FOR YOURSELF AS I COULD NEVER SETTLE INTO ONE BRANCH LONG ENEOUGH.
