Creating and updating drawings on CAD software. Attending College once a week. Taking on small engineering tasks. attending training courses.
I have developed my CAD knowledge tremendously and have learnt new skills in calculating and understanding engineering problems.
I enjoy the 3D work a lot as I feel its fun to create visual aids for projects. College is okay however I feel it could be more enjoyable with case studies and practical work - this is not really realistic however as its vital I learn the basics first.
At work with my NVQ its very structured and easy to understand however college units can be hard to keep track of due to a poorly monitored software.
I received a lot of support from my mentor when I started and it has continued as I learn new softwares and skills. They also set up meeting and lunchtime talks to attend which is very helpful for understanding more about what our company does
Every other month I get a meeting with them to discuss my NVQ and they are always there on phone if I have any questions.
I will understand more about how much I actually have learnt over the two years and will also allow my colleagues to pure more trust in me for their projects.
I have played with the arup football team, I have also attending some awards and events with arup.
