My role is centered around winning bids and managing client relationships. I have worked on live bids for large pieces of work, helping to collate and write tailored responses to client bid documents. I also assist with client management activities such as global calls to discuss clients interactions with Arup.
My time on the apprenticeship programme has led me to develop learning in many areas. My ability to analyse and manipulate data with software such as Power Bi and excel has grown significantly. I have developed strong literacy skills through the professional communications within my role.
Arup is a great place to work with many staff benefits and social opportunities. The inclusive culture has allowed me to settle in quickly and develop a network of contacts at all levels of seniority. The apprentice cohort remains in contact meaning there is always someone who understands your situation.
Arup's apprenticeship programme is very well structured with networking events and catch up's regularly organised by HR. My line manager is dedicated to helping me complete my apprenticeship. Time is given to complete my assignments and my role is tailored to the requirements of the apprenticeship.
The HR team have dealt with issues with my training provider allowing me to focus on my office work without having to worry about the issues with the training provider. Support is given from every member of my team and wider contacts who all seek to help my progress.
My training provider has been helpful most of the apprenticeship. Issues with my tutor and lack of support at the beginning of the course held back my progress but these issues have since been corrected and I am receiving the support I need.
My qualification has helped me to develop business skills while on the job. The time management modules have helped me become more organised day to day and market analysis work has given me better insights into the role my firm has in the industry.
There is many groups and societies to get involved in. There are multiple football teams and 5-a-side tournaments that many are involved in. Professional networking events are well funded and often. Arup invites guest speakers on a range of current topics.

The culture allows me to be myself at work. The day to day work I complete is interesting and constantly changing, revolving around current economic and political influences.
Go into the application process as yourself. Arup employs those who work well with others and who are able to build relationships.
