CAD work using BIM software such as Revit on a range of different projects. Leading BIM team on some smaller projects. Smaller engineering tasks when needed such as connection design.
Developed and existing knowledge of CAD to be competent using Revit. Learnt the basics of Dynamo and AutoCAD. Developed an understanding of structures and how they work as well as beginning to carry out some basic calculations.
Really enjoy working for Arup. The team and working environment makes me feel comfortable and no less important than anyone else. I like the responsibility that I am given despite it only being the start of my career and how I'm treated equally to everyone.
Very well structured. I know what I've got to do and by when and have regular catch ups with my mentor. Everyone around me willing to help.
As much as I need. Mentor and manager always around to help as well as HR team and regional apprentice champion.
Regular catch ups are useful but don't always find them very good at answering the question that I ask. Don't always seem to check work thoroughly and sometimes have to ask numerous times for feedback.
Some of what I learn at college can be applied to what I do at work. I find the college work easier because of experience at work, not the other way around. NVQ doesn't seem well structured, makes more unnecessary work (personal statements).
Lots of sports groups, talks, monthly socials.

Really nice place to work. Everyone is willing to help and do what they can to help me with anything I might need. Make me feel comfortable despite being quite a bit younger than a lot of my team. Exciting projects and loads of amazing experiences.
Such a wide range of projects that you'll never get bored of something. Application process and interviews are relaxed and make you feel very comfortable and at ease. Kept in the loop throughout the whole process
