I work within a Building services team at Arup, within this team I focus on BIM related issues and deliverables. My day to day activities include: - working through mark-ups - Controlling and updating BIM Models - Issuing and maintaining Projects - Learning on the Job
I have learnt a lot of new skills and I have also developed on a lot of my existing skills.
I always enjoy getting into work, the work, the people and the atmosphere are always amazing and inclusive. There is always something new to learn and it is always enjoyable to learn it.
My apprenticeship is structured and the next steps are always clear, if there are any issues or problems there is always someone to clarify them for me.
I have a mentor which supports me, I also have a line manager which I can talk to about larger issues. I also learn from the engineers / Technicians around me and I can rely on their support if needed.
Bath college are great at conveying issues and resolving them for the student, there are some issues like every college course but the providers did everything they could to help us.
My previous qualification helps me on my day to day activities, the skills learnt from the course help me to improve the quality of my work. My current course has helped me to learn about new aspects of my role.
There are a multitude of different activities and social events which you can attend, these are always encouraged and well planned.
