Currently in college 5 days a week undertaking lessons such as: Engineering Drawing, Electrical and Mechanical Principles, Maths, Engineering Project and Materials. Which will provide me with Level 3 qualification. Before progressing into the workplace and undertaking the HNC.
I have developed a new understanding and knowledge of engineering, especially mechanical principles, which I haven’t experience before in previous education.
Currently, I enjoy most lessons that must be undertaken to complete the apprenticeship but it can prove frustrating when some tutors are patronising due to the variable age differences in the class. It would be more enjoyable if some time could be spent in the workplace weekly/monthly.
The programme is well organised/structured and help is always offered if required.
Support from the employer is great and available when required. Extra measures can be put in place to help.
BAE offers support when required and regularly undertakes reviews to monitor progress or any queries/issues you might have.
Some lessons I believe are extremely relevant to the role (mechanical/electrical principles and engineering drawing). However, some lessons are much more vague and hard to make relevant to the role.
The college offers various sports teams to undertake.
Yes
Very supportive to its employees and helps apprentices to progress in their roles or other roles. Clear and concise with how the programme will be undertaken, providing plenty of information throughout.
Don’t give up if you don’t get in first time, try your best. They look for people that make effort and try their hardest.
