Creating safe electrical circuits within the workshop, that can be used within a domestic, commercial and industrial environment. Whilst also gaining electrical knowledge within units, such as Electrical testing unit.
Yes, I have learned how to formulate basic electrical circuits, whilst gaining understandings on why they have been made in such manner in regards to safety. I have also learned how to use many new tools correctly. I have improved on my confidence to ask questions when I am unsure. I am improving on my mathematics.
I enjoy learning new things, which will be the case throughout the whole of my career. It is good to work in a team of people that are committed to finish the tasks and learn themselves.
The programme is constructed very well, the induction was informative and thorough. The training and support is great, if there is any issues with this we can speak to tutors etc. and get this resolved. Structured timetables allow us to complete work before deadlines and manage our time effectively.
We are offered a lot of support, from help with work in regards to studying to if there is ever an issue within our personal lives. The company supports us in as many ways as possible.
We are provided with our tutors help and advice when studying for tests etc. If we have any issues and are struggling with any work, we can ask at any stage and help is given towards our development. Moral support is also given, which helps keeps the workforce motivated.
The qualification ensures that we have been given the right training and education in order to complete the roles within our job descriptions. It not only helps us with the electrical knowledge, but health, safety and mathematical knowledge to our job also.
There are some things that take place in the local community that I am aware of that apprentices can take part in. For example, in the induction we did a beach clean. The council also do a band night every year for the public to raise money.
