  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis, in the workshop we have a toolbox talk every morning which is mandatory. After the toolbox talk we are left to do our projects with the assessment books which we work through completing one project at a time which gives each apprenticeship hands on skills and understandings of how a workshop works.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned plenty of skills through out my apprenticeship such as leading a team within the outward bound week, I can bring these skills into my day to day life. I have also developed the skill of being able to understand the engineering drawings for the given projects.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy this apprenticeship as it offers me a structured programme allowing me to strive for success through out the apprenticeship and it also opens so many career doors for my future.

  • The programme is very well organised as it offers each apprentice hands on training with lots of life long skills.

  • As an apprentice I receive any help I require which is always good as we are all learning.

  • I receive lots of help from the training provider working towards my qualifications as they always want us to do our best within all qualifications.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the qualifications gives me plenty of knowledge for the job role I am going to get into.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is things such as soap box, where apprentices build a cart to race.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend BAE to a friend as the training programme is very high quality and it offers all the required training needed for the job role.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • I would give the advice of always try hard in everything you do within the apprenticeship as many rewards come with it. Working hard while in the apprenticeship can give you a successful career.
