I have just been promoted to a team leader role. This new role included opening and closing the shop with cashing up duties. I have to make sure that I follow procedures correctly and also make sure the day to day running goes successfull. I also have my other duties that include my customer service advisor role.
I did have previous retail expieeenx experience within another well knowm supermarket. I have learned how to open and close the shop successfully, cash up properly, follow the correct health and safety strict regulations, pest control, temperature control. I have transferred my existing retail skills over which has helped massively within this role.
I very much enjoy this programme as I am learning new skills with every time I read or start a new module or assignment. I very much enjoy working on this program as it gives you more confidence and a much better understanding of working with the public. It's a win win
My apprenticeship program is very well structured and clear. The Lifetime website is very clear, precise, user friendly and very informative on my program or other programs they offer. This makes it a lot easier for someone just starting the program or current users to understand what's needed to start your program.
Iceland is very serious about this program and they like many organisations use lifetime. If it wasnt for lceland i wouldn't have had any idea about this program as thay like to recomend it to staff. They are very flexible with your working hours to help you with this program
My trainer is very supportive. She is able to explain what and where is needed. I am able to contact my trainer at anytime if needed as she is only a phone call or email away. She is able to explain the requirements that I need and to help with this program
I feel that I am more confident and have a much better understanding of working in retail. I feel that I can talk to customers much better and more confidently. I can resolve issues with customers much faster and avoid or resolve and conflicting matters. I feel much happier now
Iceland offer a wellbeing program that looks after staff. This can also be a charity program that may be a local charity or a main one that iceland supports. This may include a cake sale to raise funds for the chosen charity. They also do clearing plastic from local beaches too
Yes
For starters every year iceland feature in the Sunday times best compiles to work for. They may not be as big as say the big four supermarkets but size doesnt matter. They are like one big family and it doesent discriminate against anyone regardless of race, colour or gender. This is the best company I've worked for
Be honest and just be your self . Iceland want honest and hard working people. You must like early starts at the earliest start can be anything from 5am to 6am and as its retail you can finish past ten PM. Its not easy work but more importantly it's good work that rewarded
