My daily task include, Talking to customers and target customer to understand needs in the business revolving around IT. I then look to sell to these customers based on there requirements. This will involve contacting partners to get the best pricing and sending quotes to these customers. I always spend some time contributing to my course work ran by Remit. I interact with many people during my day such as Vendors,Distribution,Account managers,Customers,Managers and internal support. My access to these resources help make my experience really enjoyable and let me do the job to the best of my abilities.
I have learnt a lot about interacting in a professional manor, this is due to my constant interaction with customers and colleagues as well as the training I have received from remit which helps answer any questions I have. I also learn a lot about the industry which allows me to have skills in Communication as my customers can stay informed by myself.
I really enjoy the program due to my amazing team that surround me in Public Sector London aswell as brilliant Higher management such as Lois Simon who is always supporting my growth personally and professionally. My role doesn’t feel like a traditional apprenticeship that I used to hear about as I have all thee tools I need to do a full job that doesn’t restrict me.
It is very well organised and I am always informed of what I will be doing very far in advanced, I travel for my training days which is payed for by the company as-well as putting me up in a hotel and paying for my meals. The structure is also great as my team work closely with my and don’t treat me any differently to a university graduate and I am given all the same responsibilities and even more support if I need it.
I receive lots of support with course work from my employer which allows me to focus on both my qualification and my day to day role, support comes in the form of an apprentice manager, Deputy team leader, Team leaders and many more such as learning and development and remit my training provider. This means that I get a huge support offering if I need it.
I have full access to my training provider on the phone as-well as over email, Sessions are done on average twice a month for which I travel to Softcat’s headquarters in Marlow to have sessions that support my course work in case I have any questions, we are also given tips on what we should do to get the best possible grade.
I have a technical training day as-well as a sales specific training day each month, this helps me become a better sales person as well as a technical professional in IT. These skills that are taught to me are extremely transferrable and I think I have picked these up quickly, the sessions always make an impact on my work.
There are an abundance of social events in my London office with a whole team designated to Culture in the office and bringing people together. I also have a quarterly apprentice night out where I take part in activities such as go karting with my fellow apprentices which helps team building and is most importantly a lot of fun.
Yes
I enjoy my Job much more than I ever thought I would, I have such a great social life of the back of it and are treated very well by my company. My team are also brilliant at supporting me and have made me feel so welcome at work this is why I would highly recommend it.
I would tell people to get stuck in with everything possible because the company spends lots of money so people can have fun, I would also tell people to try and learn as much as they can about the industry and network as it will set you apart from others and make you a better professional and develop chances you are given in the business
