My day to day role is based around the management of an account base. This involves targeting accounts, prospecting opportunities and manage spending accounts. This is centralised around the procurement of IT infrastructure.
Yes, I have learnt how to use CRM and learnt about the priorities within Softcat including Cyber Security, Virtual Workspace, Hybrid Infrastructure along with direct training from Softcat Partners. Also within Remit training both Technical and Sales Skills have been gained.
I really enjoy the programme - the Softcat culture is fantastic and welcoming, and the training provided is insightful. I feel as though the programme allows for growth and stocks by Softcat’s culture statement including Fun and Passion.
The programme is well structured and works well along side Remit and Natural Training. This included dedicated training sessions for both and these are monthly. The planning behind this has meant for a smooth process and structure.
I receive all the support I could wish for from Softcat. This from the Learning and Development team with 1-1 Catch Ups and similar from Apprentice Managers. It’s also important to mention that all sales staff I have come across are always willing to offer help and support.
The training providers Remit and Natural Training are great for support. When completing coursework or trying to tackle problems they will answer emails promptly and/or take calls to ensure the necessary support is provided and that all problems have been tackled.
The qualification provides structure to the apprenticeship as this ensures that the necessary information and knowledge will be learnt. This best setting me to complete the qualifications to the highest level.
Although I don’t personally get involved in these, Softcat do offer extra curricular activities. These are often set up to support a Charity invents, an example of this being Rugby tournaments.
Yes
As Softcat is welcoming and provides a fantastic apprenticeship scheme. The culture is unmatched to alternative employers. Softcat also allows for fast growth within the business and a great opportunity to earn money in commission.
Ensure that you embrace yourself for who you are, as Softcat are excepting and accommodating to this. But make sure that you are willing to put in time and hard word especially for sales as you will always be rewarded by the effort that you put in.
