My role is sales improvement, I get the opportunity to work with different people within the business to try and find and develop new ways of improving out performance. I get to work on a variety of different jobs, helping different people. This is exposing me too all different areas of business and is helping me gain experience.
Everyday I am given the opportunity to learn new skills with different jobs and tasks I am carrying out on a day to day basis. Not only am I learning new skills but also developing skills that I had before I joined. This shows how brilliant Softcat is as they thrive on improving and developing everyone who work for them.
I really enjoy this program as it has opened me up to the business and gives me the opportunity to continue learning as I am also working. Everyday this programme is developing me. The culture within the organisation is brilliant and it is down to the success of the business.
My programme gives me more than enough time to focus on the apprenticeship side and my day to day job. I get to work and study with other apprentices if i feel it will help me get the work done. We have training once a month where someone from remit will come in and cover all topics and information we need for that months work.
My manager is supporting me everyday and is focused on making sure i am growing into my role and making good progress. My manager is always there for me when i have any problems and I know I can go to her when i do have an issue. At Softcat they also offer mentoring and guidance if you want to grow yourself and your career.
We have monthly 1-2-1 and monthly training sessions and we can email or call our set training coach any time if we have any issues. So far this has been more than enough as it gives us the perfect balance. If we were to spend anymore time it would be too much to balance with our everyday job.
As it is helping develop my knowledge it is allowing me to bring this into my role and my everyday job. This is also helping me with my everyday job as i am making sure i am doing my job and apprentice work. This is getting me to creates plans of what I’m going to do each day to get a balance work life.
There are plant of extra curricular activities you can do at softcat. There is a variety of different activities for everyone to get involved with. For example there are football and rugby teams, as well as events that are put on for the business and held by external business or competitions.
Yes
Softcat is a brilliant place to work, it allows you to be yourself. Softcat is amazing because you enjoy going to work there and you look forward to going to work everyday and working with the people you do. Softcat also hold a lot of social event which gives you the opportunity to get to know knew people
I would tell them to be themselves and just to enjoy the process. If they act like themselves and show they want to work hard then they have every chance of getting the job. You need to show you have a desire to work for softcat and have a passion to want to do well.
