As an apprentice here at Softcat I have never felt more welcomed into any other place. It has allowed me to really get the best out of myself and do things that I haven’t ever done before. There are so many fantastic incentives that I never thought I’d ever do in my life! For example going to a french 5 star restaurant trying foods I haven’t ever heard of!
I believe that I have really learnt a lot being here at Softcat. My confidence in being able to speak with people has grown massively as I use to be very shy when speaking to people I have never spoken too before. However by working at Softcat I do believe that this has allowed me to become better at this and to become more confident in myself.
Everything about the programme is so enjoyable. It allows me to focus on all the things I do in my job and how I can apply myself to what that is. We have training 2 times a month with Remit that sit down and ensure that my work is up to the best possible standard it can be at.
Our Programme is structured perfectly for us. Softcat ensure that our training is on well suited days for us as it can get very busy. It is also good as it allows us to come away from our desk and focus on something else. It also is 2 times a month so it gives you time to catch up on work and ensure it is all ok.
We are always receiving support from Softcat. We are assigned to apprentice managers so they are always checking on us and taking Care of us. This really helped with me settling in because they show you how everything runs in Softcat and teach you everything you need to know here.
Our training provider is always calling or emailing us to ensure we are all ok, and to also see if we need any help with the coursework. This is good as they are always looking after us and making sure that we rate doing the correct things in orders to get their best out of ourselves.
The technical part of the training really helps me broaden my knowledge to understand how the role works. As well as this the sales training really helps me to build up my account manager skills and understand what it takes to be a successful sales man within the industry of softcat.
There are so many incentives and trips that you go on as an apprentice. For example they took us to the Lake District in order for us to get to know each other and build up our socialising skills so our confidence is better and can apply this in the workplace.
Yes
I would recommend this because I want them to understand the amount of fun and knowledge I have gained from being here. It is such a great way to build networking skills and become a more confident person in general. It allows you to do things that you have never done before and also discover more about yourself.
Get yourself out there and get to know as many people as you possibly can. Take in all the information you can think of and apply yourself to everything that is set out. It is a great way to experience things you haven’t done before so ensure you take it all in and do the best you can!
