I am an account manager at Softcat where i deal with the SMB market. I am learning how to be an effective account manager in preparation for my end of year assessment to become a full fledged Rookie at Softcat. While also completing my Coursework and sales training all completed internally.
Skills that i have learn’t since working at Softcat include many interpersonal skills which are vital in the workplace. My professionalism and confidence in networking with new people has jumped massively from when i was in Sixth form. Moreover, i feel like i am transitioning into an adult from being at Softcat.
I enjoy my programme very much, this is because it was quite daunting jumping from school to work. However, softcat made that change very easy for myself and I believe this opportunity had enabled me to create a career for myself in the company which i look forward to very much.
I think that Softcats structure is very well organised, this is because we have been briefed from the first few days how the apprenticeship is going to work and what will be going on throuought the course of the year. Especially when it comes to the coursework and internal training
I feel l receive a lot of support from my employer softcat, especially from the learning and development team. They are very good at helping you with problems, and also my apprenticeship manager when i need support or advice whether that’s relevant to work or external problems i might have
I feel like i get a good amount of support from my training provider. Especially as they have a lot of us to help in a session. They are reliable and resourceful when i come to them for problems which makes it easier to succeed in the business as an apprentice
I think that having a qualification at the end of the year will help my role as i will have something backing my experience up, it will make me more confident for upcoming years and a talking point as a salesman. The level 3 apprenticeship has helped me perform better massively.
Yes, softcat are very good with extra curricular groups. The Monday night football appeals to me as well as all the events that my team takes part in as well as overall events at work. It can help you make more connections at work and branch out to more people
Yes
This is because i would want my friends to have the chance that i have here at Softcat. I know that they will fit in just as well as i have. Especially as a relatively youthful company, its a great place to start off at as an apprentice and grow through the years
Tips that i would give to anyone starting at Softcat would include, being hardworking and being yourself. If you show the correct attitudes, and are friendly while being good at your job, you can succeed and get far in the company. Be honest and respectful at Softcat and you will go far
