My Day to Day role at Softcat is a Sales Apprentice, This includes me creating building and maintaining relationships with customers, vendors and Colleagues. I do this through cold calling, warm calling, meetings and Emails. This is all brought together to create and work through a sales cycle in order to make the sale to a customer.
I have learnt new skills such as effective ways to communicate with customers by using different methods such as emails, Cold calls, warm calls and emails. I have also learnt organisational skills in order to stay on top of all my work. Existing skills that I have been developed include communication, punctual and selling techniques
I love the programme so far as it has taught me so many things and allowed me to expand my networking and make new friends I never expected I would make. The programme has also allowed me to understand the ways business run and strive to succeed by putting employees first
The Softcat Apprenticeship programme is very organised and structured so that we have regular sessions each month outlining what we will be doing and need to complete before the next session. These dates are out in the diary weeks in advance in order to ensure everyone can make it and there is regular contact for anyone who is struggling with what they need to do in the programme
I receive as much support from Softcat as I need. When I have any questions about the work on the programme there are numerous people I can go to for help to ensure I am doing the right thing. In terms of sales I have managers and team leaders who I can ask for help
I have regular training sessions with my training provider this allows me to work towards my qualifications and ask/learn all the questions that I need to. These happen every month with the provider also helping outside these sessions with any queries that I have for them to do with our work
My qualifications helps me in my role every day. This is because during my qualification I learnt different aspects around IT. For example learning the different aspects to the network diagram means I can discuss this with my customers and show off the skills I’ve learnt to drive more sales
There are loads of extra curricular activities. One of example of this is every Monday there is a football 7 a match in which Softcat employees will go down and play inter side games and occasionally we will have games against other companies which everyone can get involved in a
