Project managing the writing of curriculum Looking after all feedback Managing Delivery Partners
Both - I had a vague idea of project management from my Team Leader Level 3 apprenticeship but after changing job roles and being enrolled onto the Level 4 APM I have learned so much. Before starting the Apprenticeship I didn't know how to properly manage a project, how to do a PMP, how to do estimating and budgeting, about scope management or risks. As I am doing the Apprenticeship while learning the role it has been great. I have a much wider knowledge and also the skills to progress.
The sessions are really engaging. The group is mixed so I get to see how people manage all different types of projects which has helped me in my role. There are activities in all the sessions and the delivery was tailored to how our group felt they could learn best which was monthly classroom sessions. The tutor has fantastic knowledge and is always on hand if we have any questions or need help.
The programme is structured really well. We were given a full course overview and delivery plan at the start with the dates and locations planned out for the duration of the course. The sessions always start at the same time and the content is laid out really well. We are given workbooks at each session to follow through and have also been provided with the APM study guide
My employer has been brilliant. They always allow me the 20% off the job to complete my work and have provided me with a project management mentor so that I have someone I can always go to if I need any support. My line manager attends and inputs to all of my reviews and I feel fully supported.
The support I have received so far has been great. The tutor delivers the classroom sessions every month and then also completes reviews one to one in between. He gets back to me really quickly with and queries and his knowledge is great. The APM handbooks we have been provided with also come in really handy, especially when revising for the exam or completing case studies
Without thus qualification I wouldn't have been able to progress into the role as Quality Curriculum Project Manager. The qualification helps me to perform in tis role as it has given me the project management knowledge I need but also the skills to be able to put that knowledge into practice
I am a safeguarding deputy so regularly attend meeting on safeguarding and prevent. I am also a health, safety and wellbeing champion so have involvement in health and safety events as well as wellbeing events such as walking month, mental health events and developing monthly hot topics to share with employees, partners and customers.
Yes
In the past I have completed qualifications with other organisations but I feel that Interserve really cares about its employees and its learners. Since working for Interserve I have been recognised for the work that I do, I have been given progression opportunities and have just received a long service award.
I'm not sure what advice to give. I would say to be yourself, be confident and ensure that you do research on the company as there are so many different divisions it's important to understand which division you are applying for. They are a really great company to work for
