  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I manage a store alongside the store manager. Working towards company KPIs and targets. My time including stock handling. Cash handling. Inventory management. Rota management. I analyse sales trends and maintain stock availability across the sales floor and back up trying to achieve the best sales by promoting key lines and beating weekly targets. I provide and implement ideas on how the shop floor can be improved, and where promotional items can be placed for the best sales. I understand and study KRA’s so I am able to identify trends and create a plan of action. I recognise when colleagues should be praised for the work they have done, and when they require additional coaching so that they can perform their job at a superior level, providing them with the opportunity to be able to progress within the business. My management experience includes cash handling, managing colleague rotas, working deliveries, processing stock levels to an accurate level so the deliveries are accurate. Performance Reviews. Interviews & Recruitment. Disciplinary’s, Appraisals, Coaching & Mentoring.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt that each individual is different and therefore each approach towards each member of the team is to be different based on their learning & professional needs. When coaching it is essential that it is clear, concise and easy to understand. Because each person is different, each approach whilst coaching is different to suit the individual to make it as easy as possible for them to understand, learn and develop

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme significantly. I learnt a lot from it and was able to develop myself as an individual and as a leader. The programme helped me to develop into a better manager and a more approachable person. But at the same time allowed me to become a more rounded individual with more knowledge, a larger skill set and a wider view on things
