On a day to day basis I spend 4-5 days a week in college completing two courses, one in advanced manufacturing engineering level 2 and then the advanced manufacturing engineering course level 3. when I am not at college I will be on site completing various activities familiarising me with my future work environment.
I have learnt new skills through the courses I am completing at college as they have allowed me to learn skill including, working with hand tools, CAD drawing and completing risk assessment with the capability to identify hazards to a suitable standard. On top of that I have improved my skills of public speaking.
With my programme I am happy with what I do as I have met new people who have also helped me with improving skills outside of the company. Also I feel confident in what I do on a daily basis and I do not feel like i am out of my comfort zone and I am capable of achiving my end goal.
I feel that my programme is well organised as everything is how I am expecting it to be as it is well organised because I am confident that any information that I am told is not changed unexpectedly and I am informed of any information with enough time in advance.
I recieve support from my employer on a weekly basis as they will come into college and talk to me and other apprentices about the course. Also every 12 weeks I complete a review for my employer that shows that I am progressing on the courses that I am doing at college and that I am physically and mentally fit.
From my training provider i recieve enough support for me to be confident in completing my qualifications as they will tell me of areas to improve and ares that have been done well. Also I fill in monthly reviews where I can say my opinion on my qualifications.
I feel that my qualification is suited to my role and will aid me in the future of my apprenticeship. Also i feel that my training provider is providing me with enough information to understand what i may use the qualification for in the future allowing me to progress confidently.
At work there are extra curricular activities that i am able to be involved with that are used to donate to charity, for example I am soon to take part in a charity football tournament which people from across the work area are getting involved with allowing me to talk to new people that i have not met before.
Yes
BAE is comforting to people who have just left school you do not feel like you are out in a new environment as you are still in college with a slow introduction to a work life. This means you do not feel worried about being out of place as you still feel comfortable in your education.
BAE systems is the company that you want to get an apprenticeship with, the pay is good, the people are nice and you do not feel uncomfortable moving up from your previous education. Before applying with BAE systems prepare yourself for the interview as you will need to impress the company to be able to get the apprenticeship.
