I am a funeral arranger. I help families when a loved one passes away to arrange the best send off. I help with the preparation of the deceased to ensure any visits are the best they can be. I provide pre payment plans to clients and talk them through any questions. When a family come in due to a loved one passing I listen to them and help them through there bad time, whether that be sitting and talking or helping them arrange the funeral. I then organize the funeral, booking the date, minister and ensuring all the relevant things are completed, taking the stress away from families
I believe all what I do has been new and developed skills, from how to communicate with a grieving client, speaking to a client with disabilities, to arranging the funeral, possibly some with a twist, and completing masonry for a headstone. I have helped prep a deceased ready for visits and gained skills in many other things
I enjoy meeting new people in the same role as me, being able to openly ask questions and receive answers on things I'm not sure on. I feel the programme has been a great help to boost confidence in what I do on a day to day basis within my role
Some of the things spoke about in the programme sometimes does not relate to the role I am in and I feel it could be looked into a bit better but for 95% of it it has been well structured. I have been informed well in advance of dates and the programme leaders are always great help
My employer is always available if I needed them. They have always had an open door for any concerns or chats i may want. They support me in my future with Coop and always keep in touch to ensure that I'm ok as a person and that I'm doing ok
My training provider is amazing. She is always ready to help when I need it and is so patient with anything I may not understand. She always structures things around me in one to ones and in a group she will always go round and make sure everyone is comfortable with what there doing
I think it will give me the confidence to no that I am doing my job to the best of my ability and to have that confirmed by an official to say that I am good at what I do would make me feel like I have succeeded in the job role I have chosen
Coop is a close network of colleagues and friends who socialize outside of work as well as inside of work. They put on job days that we can go to if we want to progress our career, and also have team meetings on a regular basis so we can all receive information as a team
Yes
Because of there values and commitments. Coop is dedicated too helping people and families and always put them first. All the people I have met have always gone above and beyond for anybody and everybody whether that be for a funeral, for charity or just for someone who feels a bit lonely
To try your best and not be deflated. There is a lot to learn in any role but it is worth it to be able to help families at possibly there lowest point. Dont be afraid to ask for help as there is so many people who would help at the drop of a hat
