I have developed and learnt many new skills while on the Cisco Programme, But the one which I feel has been the best professional skills to have been developed is presenting skills which is always good to improve.
The Cisco programme gives a good understanding of the Cisco culture about helping each other perform well. I also enjoy the other opportunities which come up from being part of the Cisco programme, For example giving back to local communities and promoting Cisco brand and Apprentice Programme. The programme has been better than I though it would have been when applying.
I do feel that I am valued by Cisco, this is because I have had internal recognition and I have also had good feedback from my manager.
In the first year of my apprenticeship we are given the opportunity to try out lots of different areas of Cisco which allows you see how different work. This also then gives a good understanding of kind of roles you enjoy. Cisco also make sure you have a good level of training and support. With each Apprentice given an older apprentice as a mentor.
I receive good support from Cisco, this is because we have got an apprentice manger who is able to help us with any questions which we may have. We are also able to go and get mentor who is able to support you when you need it.
I feel that our salary for an apprentice is very good and allows me to cover my travel, living and social costs. We are also given the opportunity to sign up to benefits such as the share scheme, private health care and many more.
I have been able to be involved with lots of different opportunities outside of work, this includes company events off-site and on-site. Cisco also cares about the community so we have done a couple of voluntary initiatives.
Yes
I would recommend the Cisco Apprenticeship to my friends because it gives you the opportunities to experience a wide range of areas of the business before being able to select the careers path you would like to take.
