  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I west up the activities before the. children arived then I would greet some of the parents and ask if the child is ok then we would do free play then we would either go out for the morning or stay in and do a bigger activity then we would Do snack and get the children to wash there hands with help then we would do listen with Lucy and then the children would have a book then it would be lunch time after lunch we would do nappies and then some of the children would go to sleep then we would do another activerty with the children.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to communicate with parents as I used to struggle with that. My new skills I learn was I have done different training whilst working doing my apprenticeship so that has made me more aware and I have learnt new skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed doing my childcare level 3 as I have had to work along side my boss as it is just me and her also it has meet all my expectations as I love working at a Childminder’s as you have less children and you can do more things with children as there are less amount of number so when you are doing learning in a group it is nice and small. Yes I really do enjoy it and I am pleased that I have picked to go in to childcare

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme was very good as I did different training that helped me though also I had an induction period where someone came out and saw me. If I was ever stuck on anything I was doing whilst working I would always get the support I needed I enjoyed studying and I always made sure that it was never handed in late. Once a ,outhitting me and my boss would have meeting to see what had gone well and what needed inproving so I could always improve and make sure I was doing things right my programs was very well organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer was very helpful when I needed help with anything or if I wasn’t sure what I needed to do also she would help me on my course work if I was stuck on certain bit of it also she was very good at mentoring me as no I no all the different things I need we to no about the setting and children.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider was very good as she ludo come out and when she was giving me my different taskes to compleate she would always talk me though it and give me little pointers to help me though it also when ever I had a issue and was stick she would always message me back to gelp so she W was very helpful with all of it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yes what I have learned being an apprentice has helped me very much now I have finished as when you are doing the qualification you find out about a lot of different areas I did no have a clue about so that has helped a lot when working with children

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not really as where we work is a Childminder’s and there isn’t a lot around in the area I work

  • 9a. Would you recommend Jumping Jacks Childminding to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because they where very professional and very helpful with me whilst I was doing my level 3 in childcare


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Jumping Jacks Childminding?
  • Working with children you have to be conferdente and always be happy and smiling when you are working with children as they love that and be fun and bubbly
