  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • During the apprenticeship I rotated through many roles, viewing all aspects of the development life cycle and a range of projects throughout the company, including environmental testing, production support, obsolescence management, design and verification & validation. This involved taking ownership of some tasks as well as supporting larger team based work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend GE Aerospace to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It was a great experience, with lots of learning opportunities and challenges. The company is great to work for and encourages you contently to improve yourself. there is also plenty of support once the scheme has ended allowing you to direct and actively pursue your chosen career. It also has a great community feel despite being a large company.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
  • I would strongly advise you to be yourself in interviews and don't be afraid of using less obvious examples to demonstrate competency of particular skills. The technical knowledge is taught during the scheme, so a keen interest is more useful. Also import is to have a strong desire for problem solving and team work.
