My existing skills have been developed in that I now have a deeper understanding of the insurance industry as a whole. My confidence has also increased, so much so that I have recently been successful in achieving a promotion. I was also given additional development opportunities in order to support the apprenticeship.
It was a mixed bag - studying for my CII was interesting and definitely beneficial. I am a 'mature' student though and feel like a lot of the programme is aimed at school/college leavers. It could be adapted to take into consideration when the pupil may have a number of years work experience.
It's reasonably well structured/organised - clear goals/aims are set, I have regular meetings with my tutor and know what is expected of me. It's reasonably well structured/organised - clear goals/aims are set, I have regular meetings with my tutor and know what is expected of me.
I have been allowed time to study during my working hours & been given study leave prior to my exams. I think I have been one of the lucky ones though as I know a lot of people have struggled to get time during working hours; this has put people off doing the apprenticeship.
Kaplan have been brilliant - they have made allowances for me being a 'mature' student and having commitments at home. My tutor is always available if I have any questions or require assistance. The CII aspect is hugely beneficial; it has given me a much deeper understanding of the insurance industry as a whole and gives me a really important qualification in the industry I am pursuing a career in. I don't feel the apprenticeship side has brought any improvements though - it is much more likely to benefit a school/college leaver.

Good opportunities for those that want it. Good benefits; holiday buy/sell, pension, dental/life/critical illness insurance, childcare vouchers, travel loans. Option to complete the CII through the apprenticeship scheme. People are, generally, really nice. A large company, so plenty of scope to move to different departments and expand experience.
