At the minute I am working in the process team, specifically in the First Notification of Loss in RSA. This specialises in looking at the current process that RSA have adapted over the years and seeing if there are any improvements that can be made to it to aid the business in financial savings or time saving.
Yes, learnt how to deal with customers better, interoperate data much easier. Also deal with colleagues easier, and my time management skills have increased. Over the months of working at RSA I have been in over 5 job roles which immerses me in different ways the business operates, this allows me to develop my current skills and/or new skills from working in the roles.
I have enjoyed the RSA apprenticeship programme a lot, I think it was a much better decision applying here than going to university. I have learnt a great deal and many things that I would never learn or experience at university. For the last 18 months I have been in the business and moved through job roles that it has taken people 20+ years to experience.
The programme overall is well organised, but there has been a few issues where processes has changed without RSA realising which may be just a miscommunication through RSA/Kaplan. But on the whole the apprenticeship has been very well run with Kaplan supporting us with whatever queries we have to ask them.
My employer supports me thoroughly with anything that I struggle with or have struggled with in the past. From my 18 months working at RSA every team leader or manager I have had has been extremely approachable and are happy to help with any problems or queries I have openly or privately.
I think there could be slightly more support overall, but its our studies and apprenticeship so we should be the ones pushing it. Kaplan set us targets to meet from the meeting we have with our talent coach every 6 weeks. Upon the next meeting we have we complete the targets set in the previous meeting.
I think that Kaplan's assistance in the apprenticeship has helped me during my apprenticeship roles. Specifically with prioritising work and time management. I believe that during the process I have become much better at looking at work and thinking how important it is compared to other work/projects. I now set myself a task manager to see what work needs completing and a time schedule of when I should complete it by.
There is a decent amount of extra curricular activities available, charity work is available and RSA allows us to have 2 annual days that we are allowed to volunteer for a charity if they need any assistance. Emails often get sent about people needing help with 5 a side games at our local sports centre.
Yes
RSA offers an excellent apprenticeship into understanding the entire claims journey and how insurance companies operate. You can earn and learn at the same time which I think anyone would love. I believe you learn more on the job than you would studying business at university for example as you are immersed in the insurance environment
I would tell them to be relaxed and be themselves during the interview process. Research the company before going to the interview so you get a good background to how long the company has operated for etc. Also don't be put off by the intimidating office environment, everyone is extremely friendly and easy to get along with
