Daily I manage my own work streams and am responsible for meeting deadlines. I often have meetings, probably around 20% of my time is spent in various meetings. My work varies from designing a new process to running an awareness campaign on internal social media.
I have learnt lots of new skills mainly related to behaviour in professional environment such as professional emails. Stting up meetings, booking rooms etc.
I have done many different roles throughout my programme which I have enjoyed to varying degrees as some I have liked a lot and some I haven't enjoyed.
The programme has at times been well run. However at some points we weren't given our study time and had to bring this up with leaders/mentors a few times. The structure wasn't well designed as we could finish the apprenticeship in our final role.
My employer has supported me throughout with a mentor, leaders were sometimes not very good due to not understanding what the requirement for apprentices were and having large teams. However leaders have since been very supportvie.
Support for this has varied by role. At times its been faultless whereas at other times its been a struggle to get any time to revise.
Better general understanding of insurance helps understand the reasoning for things such as reserving but also helps in certain handling queries.
There isn't much of a culture for extra curricular activities that goes on. I have attended Kaplan development days which were good but this was in work time and self organised.

As an apprentice the salary and opportunities are good throughout the programme. However there is not necessarily an opportunity afterward other than basic low salary low skilled entry role that you started on. salary prospects and levels are low too.
Apply for the apprenticeship if you can as this has more opportunities and you can try a few roles see which you like. Look into insurance first and see if you will enjoy it.
