Motor Underwriting Department for Motor Insurance. We deal with underwriting issues on policies at new business, mid-term and renewal periods. We also deal with Underwriting issues during a claim. We will refer to the main policy underwriter if something falls outside of our delegated authority.
Yes I have learnt more about the wider insurance industry through my CII exams. I have also gained more experience within my department as my skills improve.
I do enjoy my program as it is helping me to gain more authority and experience in my day to day role. I am also gaining qualifications as I am going along.
Having a tutor has really helped me to have a structured course. Without the tutor I believe I wouldn't be completing the course as quickly or correctly.
My employer is very supportive however it is often hard to get time during work to focus on just apprenticeship tasks as my work is so busy.
My training provider has given me a tutor who has helped me organise myself a lot during this course. My tutor has also helped me to revise for my exams.
I am learning more complicated processes as my knowledge in insurance is growing. I am also able to increase my authority level from the success of the CII exams. In turn I am now training others in some processes.
There are some social activities throughout the year, however I have not been able to attend all of them as they are sometimes based very far away and I have personal commitments.
