  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The Funeral Arranger role means that I am responsible for the day to day running of the funeral home. This includes being receptionist, client liaison, responsibility for booking funerals with crematoriums, churches and ministers. I also complete funeral plans for clients wanting to pre purchase their funeral.

  • I have learnt about rules and regulations for cremations, burials and cemeteries.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the whole learning experience. At first I was very reticent about signing up as I thought that being over 50 years old I was too old. This was needless worry as the whole experience was enjoyable and helped expand my knowledge a great deal.

  • The initial sign up left me with more questions than answers, but the one to one support was excellent and the work books are easy to follow.

  • My employer arranged the whole apprenticeship and gave me time during the working day to complete it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I had regular monthly contact on a one to one basis with a dedicated coordinator, I also had contact by e-mail and telephone if required.

  • The extra knowledge gained has proven invaluable to my job role

  • The whole learning experience was made easy and the extra knowledge gained has helped me become more confident in my job role.
