  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am responsible for the running of the store from cashiers, to stock, sales, and all management responsibilities

    7/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained some more understanding of how businesses work, some skills towards managing people and stress controls

    6/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme in isolation is interesting. It has a lot of parts that are not used in my day to day and doing the programme in conjunction with a full time job is extremely difficult

    3/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured. The company I work for does not give enough time or make enough effort to free me up to fulfil my studying needs however

    2/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Very little, 3 1/2 hours a week, IF I can be freed up from store where I work full time

    2/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • She is very helpful as much as she can do in her limited time

    7/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Only a small amount due the large amount of information which does not effect me day to day

    3/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The occassional meeting and night out once or twice a year

    3/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Iceland to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • You are expected to work far beyond the initial capabilities. Doing the work of sometimes 3/4 people is not fair and is expected without being directly said

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland?
  • Be aware of working through breaks, working to support others and a constant push to go further and further and further of your limits
