My role in the apprenticeship is sheet and plate metal fabrication and with this role it entitles me to do a variety of different jobs. This includes anything from putting plates up on a bulkhead to fitting in an insert or having to remove one from a ship when needed.
I have learnt many skills across the time of my apprenticeship so far and these are how to work and communicate effectively with others in order to complete a task given to a good standard. I have also learnt a lot of sheet and plate metal work skills in order to complete jobs and find better ways to do them.
I have enjoyed this programme so far to a very high standard and am looking forward to the rest of my apprenticeship and the endless possibilities and opportunities BAE can offer to me. I have also enjoyed all the jobs I have had to do and the skills I have learnt from them.
My programme is structured and organised very well all things considered. My whole apprenticeship has been organised so I don't have to worry to much about it and I can just get on with my work. Also there is sufficient time and competent instructors in order to complete all courses and tasks in order to complete the MVQ.
My employer so far has given me all the support I have needed and asked for in order to complete my apprenticeship so far. I am also confident that my employer will carry this on in order to help me complete my apprenticeship to the required standard and finish all tasks given.
My training provider so far has given me all the support I have needed and asked for in order to complete my apprenticeship so far. I am also confident that my training provider will carry this on in order to help me complete my apprenticeship to the required standard and finish all tasks given.
My qualifications help me a lot to perform better in my role because it gives me the skills and knowledge in order to a much better job. It also gives me more confidence in the work that I have sent out and reassures me that I have completed the work to the best of my abilities.
Extra curricular activities I have done inside of work have been the navy boat challenge which involved me and my team creating a RC boat to meet certain specifications. Also I went on out of bounds which was a residential trip in order to improve everyone's team building skills and bond us more together to complete different tasks.
Yes
I would recommend BAE to a friend because I feel that its a good company to work for especially if your are interested in going into a career in engineering or project management. There are also a lot of different benefit's for working for such a large scale company like BAE.
If I knew someone who was wanting or looking into applying for BAE systems the advice that I would give to them would be to make sure they are ready for a job like this because there is a lot of hard work involved in this job and to make sure that they behave well and like themselves.
