Different placements every three months relating to the build of the Astute and Dreadnought reactor compartment. Determining processes, writing documents, attending meetings and participating in various activities.
Yes lots of MS skills that needed refining. Lots of analytical methods and skills related to nuclear engineering.
The majority of it is very enjoyable although it can be very challenging in such a complex and busy environment, getting the necessary support for certain activities
The nuclear scheme is extremely well organised with regular forums, meetings and a placement tracker to keep everyone updated
A considerable amount from early careers and our functional leads. Placements can be a dependant on the team and the amount of work they are dealing with at the time.
A very good level of support with slight improvements that could be made to the structure and delivery of certain modules
Some learning has been applicable to the working environment; and my general knowledge of the nuclear industry has been greatly improved through my qualification.
Yes. If you are interested there are many teams and clubs. There are also a lot of facilities in the area that you can use during breaks, etc.
Yes
There are massive benefits from the scheme I am working on with very few drawbacks. It is a challenging scheme but well worth it.
Be committed and determined and you will do well here.
