  • Apprentice Burner/ Fabricator and this will involve welding,burning and creating assemblies for the ship

  • I have learned new skills in burning and welding and I have been progressing these as we do these everyday

  • I enjoy this problem as we learn new skills everyday and we have learned how to weld and build assemblies and also we need to learn how to do burning and I enjoy this everyday at college

  • The programme is structured really well as we learn how to use different types of burning and also building assemblies so we are ready for going into the Yard

  • We receive a lot of support from the lecturers and also our training advisor on how to use different machinery

  • We revive a lot of support working throughout our apprenticeship and achieving qualifications

  • We learn the skills we need to give us experience for when we go into the yard and they also give us a lot of help

  • There is a gym hall in college and we play football at lunch

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are the shipbuilding in Glasgow and there are lots of opportunities and this can be a job for life and also take advantage of the opportunities and try and better yourself through the company


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • keep your head down and work hard
