My basic day-to-day activities during my apprenticeship is spent mostly at college studying towards my qualifications. I enjoy my daily schedule as I am often learning brand new skills and knowledge that will be very helpful to me in the future when I am working on site. I feel like I could get better value for my day at college with some days feeling somewhat pointless when we spend the entire day doing little valid work or are left to our own means for the full day.
I personally feel like I have learned a large amount since I began my apprenticeship. I have also massively widened my range of skills, both technical and personal. These include things such as: my knowledge with components or my confidence in myself and my performance levels during activities in both practical and theory sessions.
I personally would say that I have love the course since I began my apprenticeship. The variety of topics that we have studied and the large amount of new skills, knowledge and attitudes that i have picked up since begging have aided massively in my personal development. I am often finding myself trying to push myself as much as possible as the enjoyment factor is there
The organisation has varied throughout the beginning of my course as it is the first time this course has been taught. The college is often attempting to implement changes to better the course however the results are mixed. I often find myself getting frustrated to changes that seemingly negatively impact myself at first however things have began to improve massively over the past month which has helped me settle pack into the process.
I would have to say that the support I have already received during my relatively brief time as an apprentice has not only helped me develop my workplace skills, but as a person. There was a point where I found myself in an extremely dark place during the early months and without the support I received from both my colleagues, tutors and employer, specifically my line manager, I am uncertain if I would have been able to recover and develop the way I have since then.
When at college, I often finding myself working with the tutors frequently and getting support whenever I need it. This is because they not only help me complete work I am struggling with, but give me assistance with our progression system and also aid me in dealing with any personal or health issues that I may be going through.
As I am only a first year, the training I have received so far has honestly developed my character tremendously and has assisted in my personal confidence in not only my own skills but my ability to work as a team. I feel like the training I have been provided could not have been better.
There is extra-curricular activities constantly provided for us at the college scene. This includes sporting activities, day trips and a full week program where we will be doing the gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh award. We also started a work 5 a-side team with the fellow first year apprentices that helped us all bond extremely well.
Yes
This company, SGRE specifically, has changed my life. Since joining the company, I have developed in a way I couldn't have possibly predicted. The company has looked after me and I have found myself being welcomed by every individual, regardless of who they are or what they do. The work ethic suits me and everyone else around me helps me better myself as a person and a worker.
The best advice that I could give to another, would be to never stop smiling and be yourself. SGRE looks for positive and motivated people who are happy to be themselves around others. If you are serious about applying then you should definitely prepare because that attitude alone shows that you are committed to the cause and no matter what happens; smile.
