Offshore apprentice wind technician, I travel to different sites depending on the manning. Thus typically involves travelling to the wind farm by CTv, and carrying out service /warranty work /troubleshooting.
Learnt and developed lots of skills. Gained knowledge in understanding the wind turbines, service tasks and diagrams.
I enjoy the job alot. I've found some parts of the programme difficult due to a change in job roles and have felt that the college part of the course has been a little unorganised in places.
There is a clear structure of the programme, there are long waits for feedback on progress and improvements.
Most of the support is from colleagues and mentors.
Feedback is received, there isn't a lot of support. This is probably because there are lots of apprentices work to review.
The parts of the qualification that refer to health and safety, and how a job is completed is very beneficial

Great job opportunities for the future
A large portion of time will be spent on college work, so be prepared for that. However, the job and work involved is great
