I currently work in claims as a handler where I take calls on a day to day basis and deal with customers new and existing claims. As well as this, we do post work to assist our customers through the claims process and help progress their claim forwards. My apprenticeship is done alongside this.
I have definitely developed my communication skills, becoming more and more confident with customers and clients on the phone and colleagues who work in my team and other teams. My ability to work under pressure has got a lot better as well as my listening skills, which are important in my role.
I enjoy it a lot. I get to spend time with different teams to see what I want to do in the future. It has allowed me to gain career progression within the company to understand what I want to do next. The studying has been very rewarding throughout the term.
I would say pretty organised. I have calls with my talent coach at Kaplan every month. I also have a mentor at RSA who I also have monthly meetings with. My weekly study time is booked into my schedule to make sure I have the time during the week to prepare for my exams.
A lot of support. There are plenty of people I can turn to if I need help or assistance. If I need extra time to study each week, I can get this too. There are plenty of opportunities in teams I would like to eventually go into and it gains me a lot of experience.
A lot. My training coach is always wanting to make sure I have everything I need in regards to revision materials to complete my studies and be on track.
It allows me to develop skill standards like professionalism and planning.
There's many opportunities. There is a weekly walk and fitness club.
