Dealing with clients that may come in or phone to report a death. Arranging all aspects of the funeral, booking celebrant, any extras such as flowers. Arranging for Doctors to come out and do cremation paperwork. Arrange funeral plans and any memorial requests. Organise community events.
Developed my existing skills. Learnt about all aspects of Funeralcare as well as health and safety. Have done my own research as well as online training.
Have enjoyed learning a new job but have learnt more from my work colleagues.
Not organised. Once the training provider changed to Peoples plus its been awful. I would have been in job 3 years in October and still not signed off. My original trainer left the company last Summer, my last appointment to sign me off was July which she didn't attend. Since then it has been me chasing and having having appointments cancelled . My final observation has been booked for Mid March, hopefully will not be cancelled, trainer is coming from Bristol.
Not much. My Manager was surprised when I advised him but advised to speak to a colleague as she has been having problems and is aware of others experiencing problems.
Got a lot of support from original trainer under Learn Direct. Help me with Maths and English by sending past papers and advise.
Not a lot. You get more experience from doing the job and learning from those around you. Helps more with the Law, Employment Rights and Health and Safety.

They are a large organisation with opportunities to progress if you want. Discount on shopping and their other services. Good pay.
Good company to work for, be prepared for the training as this let's them down. Having a trainer provider that is local would help, it is very difficult learning or being assessed over the phone.
