My current role is in the Indirect Procurement Function. I work on the Coupa Team, helping to exploit the use of the system through catalogues, reporting etc. I also take a lead on the training aspects through the development of useful resources to increase business knowledge.
I have learnt so much since starting to work for the company and have also improved those skills I already had. My main improvement has been through my ability to communicate and present in front of and with a range of people that I am not completely familiar with.
I really enjoy the programme I am on, I think the opportunity it provides is something I would really struggle to uncover elsewhere.
Being the first year to pilot the programme, there is a lack of structure. I have been fairly lucky in the fact that my placements have been quite successful however, I think the fact that I try to get the best out of every situation has really benefitted me.
At the moment (Feb 2020) I feel there isn't as much support as there has been previously. I feel 1-2-1 regular meetings with our Line Manager would be beneficial. Although he supports where possible, I don't understand how he can gage where we are in terms of development.
Not much at all. I find UCLAN a very poor training provider. They offer support to those that they favour and want to support. The only real mechanism of support I get is through Simon and with him never teaching our class it can be difficult to utilise this effectively.
I feel it has no help, if anything my role supports my qualification.
Yes- I am involved in Records Management, Mental Health First Aid, a People's Awards project and often help at open events such as apprenticeship evenings.
Yes
A good business offering a variety of opportunities. I have personally met a number of people that have impacted my life in many different aspects (both work and home). I have learnt a lot and gained a great amount of experience throughout my time.
1. Don't come in to an apprenticeship comparing it to a different scheme (I feel many expect to have the same experience/ benefits as AIR apprentices, being is SS this is evidently not going to be the same. 2. Be open-minded 3. Put yourself out there
