going through systems and updating the weights of the individual parts by using CAD models. Also evolved in any big unit movement as the weight needs to be provided so the correct safety procedures are in place
I have learnt how to use varies different CAD software to aid my job role.
working with one of the most complex product on the planet and learning how they are produced and operate as everything I am doing is unique to the product.
the start of the programme was lacking organisation as I am the first year they have done this degree apprentice programme but once it was sorted it has been well organised with a clear structure which we follow.
we receive a lot of support from our employer as we have a skills coach who is available any time you need him. you also have regular catch up with him to see how you are getting on and if you need any help.
we receive a lot of support as if you are struggling with the academic side of the programme you are given someone within the business to help you. you also get adequate time in your placements to do revision or other academic work.
there are some aspects of the course which help the job role. But doing at Furness college does impact on the standard as they don't have a very high level of teaching.
there are stretch activates which provide a god opportunity to meet new people in the business to complete projects such as delivering stem club to local schools. there is also some apprentices have arranged 7 aside one night a week .

overall the scheme is very good offering you real work related to what the business needs rather than just doing pretend work.
try and get some work experience in the role you are applying for and research the company so you know what there values are so you can relate them to you.
