Day-to-day there is mainly on the job training involving buddying in a team of cabling engineers. Assessing viable routes for fibre optic and copper cabling to be installed underground.
I have been trained in copper and fibre cabling as well as some basic jointing. I have been put on multiple health and safety courses since starting up and am often offered additional training for my job.
The NVQ itself is very well structured.
So far we have been given everything needed for our NVQ completion.
The course so far has been great for ensuring that I am aware of my rights as an employee and how to stay safe in the job I am doing.
