I am a service delivery engineer for Openreach. I provide customers with telephony and broadband on behalf of over 400 service providers working in peoples homes and businesses.
I have learnt completely new skills. Previously I was a musician in the British Army. All telecoms training is brand new.
I enjoyed the programme. I felt it was very structured and enabled me to develop the skills to carry out the job to the best of my ability, and to the highest standards.
As structured as could have been. It a very learn something new every day job, however the training gave me the core skills to start with.
Support is always provided whether home or work.
A lot of support is provided. My provider and assessor was particularly helpful. She was informative and had a lot of knowledge about the job.
I believe the qualification consolidated training and learning, making me feel secure and confident about the tasks I perform in my job.
I haven't yet joined these but the option to par take in such events is available.
