i control the shift at McDonald’s, report sales to hierarchy as well as delegate tasks to crew trainers and members and also fix problems and stride to provide an excellent customer experience that has consistency every single time. I deal with any problems customers have on the occasion whilst it’s a shift i’m in charge of.
yes, i learned about silver service and got put through the slc course mcdonald’s offer to crew trainers to become a shift leader i have also developed existing skills such as people skills, how to engage my team better and how to help provide amazing service every time on shift
mcdonald’s didn’t accommodate a lot of time to me which was a set back and therefore had me stressed out for a while as i was behind on work due to the setbacks. I only got time very late when our people manager found out and it was still being neglected by the management to an extent
it was well structured however again it was difficult to follow it if i didn’t get the time to do things i needed to in my restaurant due to management not giving me the time to which was difficult to follow an exact plan and everything was rushed session to session
close to none, in total i probably had around less than 16 hours to work on my apprenticeship without my course leader which was very unhelpful. the shift managers didn’t understand that the apprenticeship is important and now that i am one i try my best to accommodate them the time however it isn’t easy because there’s no communication from hierarchy
a lot, has helped me loads through my course and gave me a lot of advice and tips along the way, thanks to her i got a good grade at the end which made the hastle worth it and taught me new things and helped develop old skills and
it helped a lot in theory and taught me a lot as to what to expect in different jobs and how to help customers but wasn’t very helpful in practice however after a certain amount of time it gets easier to put the theory into practice but this isn’t easy
not really, sometimes there are crew events however that tends to usually just be bowling. there’s nothing you can do unless you want overtime in which case you can call the store to ask for extra hours other than that there isn’t anything else but a mcdonald’s discount
Yes
the food is cheap and good, the service is fast and friendly and you always get your money’s worth, the job is good but horrible if you work the apprenticeship because of shift managers that are ignorant to the younger people who are still wanting to learn whilst working
be there for the customer, it’s not about how fast you work or how much fun you have, exceeding customer expectations is more satisfying than any of these, it’s also important to listen to managers to help achieve this, even when you have to grit your teeth sometimes
