  • As a shift manager at McDonald’s my day to day role is to ensure the coordination of people, product and equipment to help the business to run successfully. My aim on every shift is to ensure our customers leave us feeling highly satisfied with their visit.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learnt a lot during my apprenticeship, especially to have confidence in myself and my job role. I also learnt a lot more about how to run a business and finances, as well as the health and safety aspect.

  • I enjoyed it very much.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very well structured, my trainer Gareth was very helpful. He gave me clear instructions on what I had to do but also allowed me to develop at my own pace.

  • I didn’t get much time to complete my apprenticeship work whilst at work so I found myself doing most of it at home.

  • I had a lot of support from Gareth, he was always available to help me or answer any questions I had.

  • I have learnt a lot about the way a business works and also what it takes to satisfy customers. It has helped me with my confidence and also with my people management skills
