  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within a travel agents which consists of looking and booking holidays for customers, ensuring its the perfect location and the customer returns the business due to our excellent services. Within the job i also have a duty to ensure customers are covered by insurance and they have everything covered from the minute they walk out of the door in our store to the day they get home after their holiday and so on. This includes extra add on to peoples holidays for example car parking and airport hotels. I am also in control of taking payments and making sure they are processed correctly and eventually i will be also working within the foreign exchange which will include a whole lot more responsibilities.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is very well structured although i understand there is a lot of work to mark but i feel as though i could be processing a lot faster if my work was able to get marked quicker because i would rather work through it and then improve it after its marked if this is needed. Its not a massive issue as i understand this is the process we have to follow.

  • I feel i have a lot of support throughout this apprenticeship which makes it a lot more enjoyable and reassuring that if i am stuck someone is always there. I have regular check ups with my manager and my coach which allows me the time to sort any issues that might be going on. Not that ive had any anyway.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yes definitely i use the information i learn in my apprenticeship on a daily basis and as well as knowledge it has increased my confidence that will only grow with time and experience. I have used the knowledge i have learnt in a few circumstances. I know a lot more than i did before and i am only a few months into the job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • When i am not working i like to go to social events or walk the dogs. There isn't many events within the business but hopefully i will get to go on an educational when i have been with the business. i feel i would benefit a lot from this as i learn through seeing and doing. We have arranged a few meals but this is personally not through the company.
