I am a front of house skills trainer which means get to help develop team members in giving a great guest experience. I also deliver courses to help team members progress within their role. My days can vary depending on the support team needs. Developing team members that i have so much passion for.
Since being a trainer with Marstons and starting my apprenteship i have learnt loads! From skill/will matrix to gameification and even understanding Neuroscience within adult learning. (This is stuff i never knew before) I feel like everyday i learn something new and this has helped masivley with my confidence.
I get to not only do my apprenticeship but i can use my findings within my role. I absolutely love finding out new information as part of my self learning and then some what adapting it into my role. Being able to research information is something i am really enjoying.
Marstons is brilliant when it comes to apprenticeships. However the programme i am doing with Crosby i have struggled a little with as it has taken me a while to get used due to not really having a structure. I have informed my training provider who has helped masively by setting tasks for me.
My employer is brilliant and i know if i have any questions i can always speak to the right people who will support me. My line manager is a huge support for me as she always encourages me to do well and focus. If i get stuck she is always there for me.
There have been some brialliant workshops working towards my qualification which have been held by my providor and also a resendential weekend which was truly incredible. When it comes to support i have to ask for this as its not structured, once i ask for it its great support. And there are often progress reviews also.
The self learning side to it has given me confidence and the information used from self learning has helped me progress into my role further. With this i am able to use the information to my knowldge to share and help develop team members into great success within their buisnesses.
Twice a year we have a meeting and then we have an event within our department, so my first year we had a big football match where all were incolved. The second year we had our summer sports day which contaied lots of fun activites for everybody and also we have a HR quiz which is a great night.

Marstons is a great company to work for as they really do care about there employees. We are not just numbers we are valued! Every day is a different day and you will always meet new people who are so friendly and willing to help you with what ever that may be.
