At the very start of my apprenticeship yes I learnt new skills, I haven't however received any additional training to develop my skills more to become a multi skilled engineer
I do enjoy my job, it would be better if you felt more appreciated and received more support with training and ordering essential kit
On the actual NVQ side it is very well organised, my assessor was very pro active. However the additional training for the role and the opportunity to do additional courses have been none existant
Colleagues help in the form of advise. But I don't receive much support from my manager with ordering essential kit nor additional training to become a multiskilled engineer
My NVQ assessor Helen Bowen has been very supportive and pro active in giving me the help and training to pass my nvq.
It has given me new skills mainly to in the respect of ICT which has helped me in my role. Also taught me policies and procedures within the company
Not really as a whole staff, however the 2 other people i work with as a gang, we work really well together as a team and have also become really good friends. We regularly socialise and play football together outside of work.
Yes
I do love my job, its completely different to anything ive done before, I feel I have grown into the role and rely on other peoples advise less now. BT as a whole is a good employer.
Do it! I am glad I made the decision to apply for this job, the job is very interesting and I don't see myself ever wanting to change employers. All I could hope for is that if they were to be successful in getting a role with BT is that they end up with a supportive manager, given all the training and kit that you would expect to receive.
