  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves serving customers daily and helping them find the holiday for them. I will also usually do my apprenticeship work on my given training days or any time when it is quiet in the shop. I also do inquiry calls to customers to see if they managed to find what they were looking for or if I can help them get something booked.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I believe that I have become much more confident since starting my apprenticeship as I am interacting with people face to face or over the phone daily. I also think that I have become a lot more confident in using technology too as we rely on computer systems to work on.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme as I feel I have fitted in very well with my colleagues. They have made me feel so welcome and have helped me when I have needed it. I also really enjoy the work in my apprenticeship as the support system we have if we need any help is amazing.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very organised, we have a website specifically for our apprenticeship work where we can submit it to so that our assessors can see what we have done. This is handy as it means we can also get our feedback for work through this website. The website also has a time log so we can keep track of what we have done.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support system within my job is absolutely amazing. My colleagues always offer to help me if I feel unsure about anything that i'm doing. My assesor also keeps in touch the best she can, she is only a phonecall or email away if I need any help with my apprenticeship work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My assessor always gives me feedback on my apprenticeship work and lets me know where I can improve my work. She also gives a lot of praise where it is appropriate which really does help keep up moral. She often does reviews and visits too to keep checking up on my progress

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that my qualification helps me massively within my job as my apprenticeship work often links to what I do in my everyday job. The apprenticeship work relates to what I do and the problems I come across daily such as data protection, visa and health requirements and passports.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There isn't an extra-curricular activities as such however we as a team often try to do things in our spare time to boost moral within the shop. For example, we may go for meals all together every now and then or do a day out somewhere together, we feel this really helps form better relationships with colleagues outside work as well as in.

  • 9a. Would you recommend TUI UK & Ireland to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel that I have improved as a person by joining TUI UK. I have made great friendships that I will uphold forever and I feel the support system within TUI is brilliant too and really helps you progress within your role. The work load is pretty good too but if you feel that it is getting on top of you then you have a team to turn to.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?
  • I would say that they would need to bare in mind what the role consists of. It is for those who don't mind speaking to people daily and good social skills. I would say it is a hard job at times as you have to be really patient with your customers when it comes to what they want.
